Summer

As we move into the warmer months, this may be your first summer working from the space, so I wanted to give you a quick heads-up about the temperature in the shop.
Due to the building being south-facing and having single-pane glass (as part of conservation requirements), the front of the shop can become very warm during hot weather.
Because of this, the reflective blinds installed last year will be kept down on most days going forwards. These have made a significant difference, reducing the heat by around 80% compared to previous summers. There is also an additional blind being installed above the door in the coming weeks, which will help further.
In contrast, the therapy rooms stay consistently cool, as the soundproofing helps to insulate the space and maintain a comfortable temperature throughout the day, even in hotter weather.
I would advise during hotter days, to avoid having clients wait in the waiting area where possible, as this is the warmest part of the space.
There are also Shark fans available in each therapy room if needed. Although we have found that a fan in the waiting area is ineffective, as it simply circulates warm air, so the new blinds will be used to manage the heat in this space.
Thanks for your support, Lisa x
